The Manatee Technical Center is located in Bradenton, Florida at 5520 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. The school can be easily reached by taking Highway 93 to the Highway 70 exit. Lakewood Ranch Boulevard is located just off Highway 70. Lakewood Ranch High School is located within walking distance of the Technical Center.
Program Schedule
The paramedic certificate program that is offered by the Manatee Technical Center consists of 1100 hours. The program works with the curriculum that has been established by the Department of Transportation and the Florida Department of Education. Student completing the course will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination and enter the field at an entry level paramedic position.
Classes are limited to 24 students and the next course begins in the fall.
Program Prerequisites
In order to be eligible for the paramedic program students must be certified as an EMT in the state of Florida. In addition, students must have at least 250 hours of experience working in the emergency medical field.
Before beginning the program students may need to submit a criminal background check and drug screening.
