The paramedic courses offered by Lanier Technical College takes five terms to complete when enrolled as a full time student. Entrance into the program begins in the spring. The EMT training classes take place both during day and evening hours.
In order to be eligible for the paramedic training program offered through the college a student must be at least 18 years old and have either a high school diploma or GED. Entrance into the program will be based on ASSET, SAT, ACT, CPE or COMPASS scores.
Before starting the paramedic training program students will be required to provide a copy of their current EMT training certification and CPR certification. Before beginning the clinical rotations students will be required to order and pay for a criminal background check, as there is usually a small fee for this check. Students will also have to complete a medical terminology course in their first semester of the program if they have not already done so.
