York Hospital EMS Training Academy

The York Hospital EMS Training Academy is located at 1001 S George Street in York, Pennsylvania. The training academy is located within the hospital grounds. The hospital can be easily reached off interstate 83 at Rathton Road. York College of Pennsylvania and Reservoir Park are both nearby.

Program Schedule

The paramedic program offered through the training academy is 14 months long and offers 1400 hours of core curriculum. In addition to these hours, there is required certificate courses and clinical time.

Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday nights from six to ten pm, with occasional classes taking place on Saturdays. Clinical hours are scheduled outside of class time. Classes take place at the Medical Education Pavilion on the York Hospital campus.

The cost of the program is $7500. This price includes all books, administrative fees, uniforms and materials. There are payment plans available for those that need it.

Program Prerequisites

Applicants are not required to, but preferred to have at least one year of experience as an EMT, that includes at least 100 patient contacts in pre-hospital care environments. An entry test is required by all applicants and is used in the selection process for the program. Prospective students must submit a completed application and schedule an interview prior to being accepted into the program.
