The Southwest Georgia Technical College EMT paramedic training program offers students the necessary courses for certification at the highest level of EMT paramedic.
Southwest Georgia Technical College is located in Thomasville, Georgia on US Hwy 19 N. You can also reach the campus by taking Hwy 319 to North Pinetree Boulevard.
Program Information
The paramedic study course offered by Southwest Georgia Technical College is 6 semesters in length that begins in the spring and continues to certification as a EMT paramedic. To successfully complete the paramedic education courses students must complete a minimum of 70 credit hours.
Program Requirements
In order to apply for the EMT paramedic program offered by the college, students must contact a program advisor. During the admission process an advisor will be given to each student. There is a competitive admissions criterion that must be met in order to be admitted into the program.
Students must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants to the paramedic education must also have a valid state EMT or advanced EMT license, CPR certification at the healthcare provider level, a physical examination, criminal background check and a drug test.
