Emergency Medical Sciences Training Institute (EMSTI)

EMSTI is one of the oldest paramedic schools in the Northern part of California. The program was started in 1979 in Stockton, CA. The curriculum is dedicated to preparing students to enter the pre-hospital medical care profession. They offer post-graduate support through both continuing education and quality improvement programs.

Program Information

EMSTI offers three different locations for their EMT education courses. The Sacramento program is located in Rancho Cordova and offers two training courses a year beginning in May and November. The Valley Program is located in Stockton and classes begin in January and July of each year. The Bay Area Program, located in Livermore has programs that start in March and September.

The EMS paramedic courses will include: anatomy and physiology, principles of microbiology, theory of patient assessment, management and operations assessment, theory of paramedic essentials to include airway management and ventilation, medical, OB/GYN, neonatal, behavior and trauma emergencies, and emergency medical services operations.

The cost for the program is approximately $8900. However, EMSTI offers several different payment plans to meet individual needs, including a 24-month payment program. This can help you achieve your educational goals at an affordable rate.

Once the EMSTI course of study is completed, students will be qualified to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Examination (NREMT).
