Altamaha Technical College has an EMT paramedic training program that offers students the necessary courses for certification at the EMT-Basic level on through to EMT paramedic.
Altamaha Technical College is located in Jesup, Georgia at 1777 W. Cherry Street. Cherry Street is also Highway 27 and Highway 341. The location of the campus is near the Mabis Dmi Healthcare facility.
Program Information
Students that have attended Altamaha Technical College for an EMT training diploma can move directly into the EMT paramedic classes for a diploma program offered by the college. These students are given first consideration when applying for the paramedic program.
The courses require a total of 42 credit hours for completion. Typically students will begin the program in the fall or the spring and it will take less than two years to complete.
Program Prerequisites
Students wishing to enter the paramedic training program offered by Altamaha Technical College must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or a GED. The minimum test scores required for admission are as follows: COMPASS: 70 English: 32 Math: 26.
Paramedic students that are part of the Allied Health Programs that require a clinical rotation must have a criminal background check and a drug screening on file before being placed within the clinical sites. A clear criminal history is required to participate and successfully graduate.
