First Coast Technical Institute is located in St. Augustine, Florida at 3640 Gaines Road. The campus is easy to get to by taking highway 1 to Woodlawn Road. The Ponce De Leon Golf Club is a few blocks away from the campus. First Coast Technical Institute sits just off the Twelve Mile Swamp Conservation Area.
The paramedic program offered through First Coast Technical Institute is a three semester course that consists of 1144 hours and takes approximately 11 months to complete. The program offers several start times throughout the year.
The classes take place on different shifts and currently the institute is enrolling for the “C” shift. The “C” shift course meets from 9 am to 6 pm. The tuition for the course is approximately $1560. Additional costs for books, uniforms, drug screenings, lab fees, and other equipment may be added to the cost of tuition.
In order to qualify for participation in the paramedic program that is offered through First Coast Technical Institute students must be a certified EMT and have current CPR certification. Students are required to have a criminal background check prior to entering the program. In addition, students must submit to a 12 panel drug screen through Lab Corp, the cost of the drug panel is $76.
