The Pennsylvania College of Technology is located at 1 College Ave, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The campus is located just off Maynard Street, which intersects with West 3rd Street. The campus can be accessed off interstate 180, which runs by the Susquehanna River.
Program Schedule
The paramedic courses offered through the Pennsylvania College of Technology is a 37 credit hour, four semester degree. The course consists of extensive time in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical/field experiences. Students will be expected to maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher in order to progress with this degree.
In addition to the cost of tuition, students will also be expected to pay for uniforms, insurance, instruments, immunizations, state and national testing fees, CPR certification, and all clearance investigations including background checks and drug testing. There may be additional costs for the program as well.
Program Prerequisites
The admissions process for the paramedic program is very competitive and completing the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program. The school uses an admissions ranking system to determine acceptance into the program. A point value is set for each of the following:
- High school and college GPA
- SAT scores (students less than 2 years out of high school)
- High school rank
- Grades for selected coursework
- Developmental coursework that has been completed
- Interview process
Students must also have a clean background check and drug test in order to be accepted into the program.
