Lackawanna College is located in Scranton, Pennsylvania at 501 Vine Street. The campus is located in the downtown area, near Washington Ave. You can reach the school by highway 11 or 307. Mercy Hospital and Moses Taylor Hospital are conveniently located near the school.
Program Schedule
Lackawanna College offers an associate degree for individuals wishing to pursue a career as a paramedic. The program is only available at the Scranton campus. For individuals that successfully complete the paramedic training program, 32 credit hours will be transferred to the associate’s degree. In order to complete the program, students will attend classes for 4 additional semesters.
Classes for the program are held during the day as well as in the evenings. There may be some weekend class options as well. During the clinical portion of the course, schedules will vary accordingly.
Program Prerequisites
Students that wish to join the paramedic associate degree program are expected to complete all developmental coursework before entering the program. Students must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
Before completing any of the clinical rotations required by the program, students may have to submit to a background check and a drug screen as required by the hospital. Students must successfully complete each semester’s classes with a grade of a C or above in order to move on in the program.
