Chipola Junior College is located at 3094 Indian Circle in Marianna, Florida. River Forest Road and Highway 166 encompass the campus, making it very easy to reach. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is located near campus and the Jackson Hospital is located five blocks away.
Program Schedule
Chipola Junior College offers a certificate program for those interested in becoming a paramedic. The program consists of 42 semester hours and takes less than two years to complete. The courses in the program must be taken in consecutive order.
The program consists of classroom time, lectures, laboratories, clinical experience and a field internship.
Program Prerequisites
Students interested in the paramedic school courses will need to submit a completed application to the college. An official copy of high school and college transcripts or a GED must be submitted along with the application as well. Students must then submit an application to the paramedic program. Students must complete the CPT examination and have a reading score above 83 or an equivalent ACT or SAT score that is no more than 2 years old.
In order to be considered for the paramedic program students must have at least 240 hours of EMS experience either as a volunteer or employee. Students must have a current EMT certification as well.
