Central Georgia Technical College Paramedic Classes

The Central Georgia Technical College EMT paramedic training program offers students the necessary courses for certification at the highest level of paramedic.

Central Georgia Technical College is located at 3300 Macon Tech Dr in Macon, Georgia. The campus can be reached by taking Eisenhower Parkway to Macon Tech Dr. It can also be reached from Williamson Road on the other side of the campus. The Macon Mall Shopping Center is located just down the street from the campus.

Program Information

Central Georgia Technical College offers an Associate degree program in paramedicine. The EMT paramedic training program consists of 70 credit hours taken over 5 terms. Entrance into the program takes place in the fall only. These Central Georgia Tech College credit hours will include: anatomy and physiology, principles of microbiology, theory of patient assessment, management and operations assessment, theory of paramedic essentials to include airway management and ventilation, medical, OB/GYN, neonatal, behavior and trauma emergencies, and emergency medical services operations.

The cost of the program is $50 per credit hour. The approximate cost for tuition of the program is $3500. This does not include the cost of books and other fees associated with the program such as examination fees, lab fees, and insurance.

Program Prerequisites

In order to be admitted into the paramedic education training program offered by Central Georgia Technical College students must first meet all of the admission requirements and required by the college. The specific requirements for the EMT paramedic program include current certification as an EMT I/85 which includes completion of the Georgia State Office of EMS and Trauma, EMT-I and AEMT updated EMS courses. Students may be required to have a criminal background check and a drug screen as required based on placement in clinical rotations at specific hospitals in the area.
