Casper College Paramedic Training Program

Casper College has an EMT paramedic training program that offers students the necessary courses for certification from the EMT-Basic level on through to EMT paramedic.

The Casper College paramedic training program offers students a paramedic technology associate degree certificate. The two year program is designed to prepare students for providing basic, advanced and pediatric life support under the direction of a physician and provide supervision of an emergency service and licensing in the state of Wyoming.

Program Information

Courses begin with EMT 1500 Emergency Medical Technician, which is the college’s entry level course of emergency medical services to prepare the student for a career as an emergency medical technician. The prerequisite for the class is: basic emergency care (Preferred). The courses continue on to the final step of the course, Paramedic Technology Field and Clinical Internship, preparing the student for paramedic certification and the National Registry.

The health science degree at Casper College accepts 12 students per year. The degree program adds months to the process of certification due to clinical and field work, yet the certification program can be completed in two years, with an Associate of Science degree in paramedical technology usually taking between two-and-a -half to three years.
