Butler County Community College is located in Butler County, Pennsylvania with a mailing address of P.O. Box 1203. This location is just off Main Street in Butler. The Stoughton Acres Golf course sits down the road from the campus location.
Program Schedule
Butler County Community College offers a paramedic certificate program and a two year associate degree program. Classes are available at the BC3 Main Campus in Butler and at EmergyCare, Inc. in Erie, Pennsylvania.
The paramedic certificate program consists of 40 credit hours and includes lectures, labs, clinical as well as field experience. The program can be completed in three semesters when attending full time. The associate degree program requires two additional semesters. The courses that are listed to be taken in the first and third semester will begin in the fall and the course listed as the second and fourth semesters will begin in the spring.
The cost per credit hour is $110 for in county residents, $198 for out of county residents, and $286 for out of state residents.
Program Prerequisites
The prerequisites for the paramedic program are as follows:
- High school diploma or GED
- GPA of 2.0 or higher
- 18 years old
- Current immunization records
- Current EMT basic certification
- Current CPR certification at health care provider level
- Act 34/151 clearances
In order to remain in the program students must earn a grade of C or better in each of their classes.
