American Health Education, Inc. offers EMS, RN, LVN, and CNA courses in the northern area of California. Classes are held both on and off site in the cities of San Mateo, Dublin, Hayward, Freemont, San Ramon, San Pablo, and the Peninsula. The school offers EMS training courses, as well as nursing and firefighter programs.
Program Information
The EMT education program runs year round in three-month sessions. Class options include a Saturday and Sunday option or a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday option. The classes are from 9 am to 5 pm. The cost of the program is $1495, which includes your textbook, a workbook, class handouts, and skill. The price also offers a course in BLS and the cost of the National Registry skills testing. For individuals that are planning to become paramedics, American Health Education, Inc. offers a pre-paramedic course as well. This course lasts five days and includes a review of EMT knowledge and skills, an introduction to reading EKGs, anatomy and physiology, and basic math calculations.
Program Prerequisites
In order to enroll in the EMT courses a student must provide proof of their immunizations. This record must have the dates you were vaccinated for rubella, mumps, rubeola, varicella, and Hepatitis B. A TB skin test is required as well. If the student is PPD positive, they must submit a negative chest x-ray and show no signs of TB. The pre-paramedic course has the additional requirement that a person must currently be an EMT-B.

In order to apply for one of the programs offered through American Health Education, Inc., an individual will need to fill out the registration form that is available on their website and return it in person, mail, or fax the information in, along with the registration fee. Registration can also be done over the phone by calling (800)483-3615. There are no application deadlines, but space is limited and the school recommends registering early.
