Tarrant County College EMT Paramedic Training Program

The Tarrant County College EMT paramedic training program offers EMT training students the necessary courses for certification at the highest level of EMT paramedic.

Tarrant County College is located in Hurst, Texas. The campus is located at 828 W. Harwood Road. This is the Northwest Campus Building NHSC Room 1131. The paramedic program is a specialized admission program offered through the College.

Program Schedule

The paramedic program offered through Tarrant CountCollege is a five-semester program that takes approximately 16 months to complete. In the fall semester, an evening based program is offered. This program starts in August and ends the following December. The deadline for registering is in the fall and the EMT training program is only available for 24 students.

In the spring semester there is an EMT training program offered that works around fire station shifts. The courses meet during the day from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Thursday and end in April of the following year. This program only has space for 24 students as well.

Program Prerequisites

Selection for the EMT training paramedic program is done by committee each year. Potential students will be notified of their acceptance into the paramedic program three weeks after the deadline for applications. Applicants will be chosen based on completion of general education requirements. Students must complete the college admissions process before applying to the program.

Students enrolling in the EMT paramedic training program will need to submit an immunization and health record form and a record of vaccinations. Verification of personal health insurance must also be submitted. A copy of EMT certification card is required upon enrollment. Applicants must submit to a criminal background check and drug screen before final acceptance. Students must also be certified in CPR at the health care provider level and meet school requirements for reading, writing and math aptitudes.
