Houston Community College Texas
Houston Community College is located in downtown Houston at 3100 Main Street #1000. The college has several campus locations throughout the city. The clinicals for the paramedic course will be located at various hospitals throughout the city.
Program Schedule
The paramedic certificate program offered through Houston Community College is a two-year program. The first and second semesters consist of both classroom and lab work. Clinicals are part of the second and third semesters. The final semester will end with a fieldwork experience. The total number of hours for the program is 39. The cost per credit hour is approximately $87.60 for in district, $148.60 for out of district, and $305 for out of state. There will also be the cost of books, uniforms, lab fees, and miscellaneous fees.
Paramedic classes typically meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 am to 5 pm. Some clinicals take place on Saturdays as well. The program is offered in both the fall and spring semesters.
Program Prerequisites
For entry into any of the health sciences programs offered by Houston Community College, students must meet minimum requirements including minimum reading score on ASSET or CELSA exam, complete required developmental courses, complete the health sciences application and have proof of CPR certification and proof of current immunizations.
