Lanier Technical College EMT Paramedic Training Program
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012Lanier Technical College has an EMT paramedic training program that offers EMT training students the necessary courses for certification at the EMT-Basic level on through to EMT paramedic.
Lanier Technical College is located at 2990 Landrum Education Dr, Oakwood, Georgia. The campus is easily accessible off highway 53, with the turn onto the campus drive being right across from the super Walmart. From the other direction the campus can be reached off Lanier Parkway taking the highway 13 or Atlanta Highway exit directly to the road that the campus is on.
EMT and Paramedic Program Information
The EMT paramedic training programoffered by Lanier Technical College takes five terms to complete when enrolled as a full time student. Entrance into the paramedic program begins in the spring. The classes for the EMT training courses take place both during day and evening hours.
Program Prerequisites
In order to be eligible for the paramedic training program offered through the college a student must be at least 18 years old and have either a high school diploma or GED. Entrance into the program will be based on ASSET, SAT, ACT, CPE or COMPASS scores.
Before starting the paramedic training program students will be required to provide a copy of their current EMT training certification and CPR certification. Before beginning the clinical rotations students will be required to order and pay for a criminal background check, as there is usually a small fee for this check. Students will also have to complete a medical terminology course in their first semester of the program if they have not already done so.
