Coosa Valley Technical College

Coosa Valley Technical College is located at One Maurice Culberson Drive, Rome, Georgia. The campus is easily accessible from Martha Berry Hwy, which is also highway 53. The campus sits just off Cedar Avenue and near Hemlock Street. Floyd County Technical High School is located just down the road from the campus.

Program Schedule

The Paramedic Technology program offered by Coosa Valley Technical College is a diploma program that prepares students to sit for the paramedic certification examination. The program is 5 quarters in length and students may enter the program at the start of any quarter for their pre-occupational curriculum. The occupational curriculum begins in the spring quarter only.

The cost for tuition for the program is $75 per credit hour for Georgia residents, $150 per credit hour for out of state residents and $300 per credit hour for international students. Paramedic students are also required to pay a $46 fee for liability insurance each quarter.

Program Prerequisites

In order to enter the pre-occupational curriculum students must be at least 17 years old and be 18 years old before starting any of the occupational program curricula. Students must have a high school diploma or GED and be a certified EMT. Minimum test scores in writing, reading, and math are required on either the ASSET or COMPASS tests.

Before entering the clinical portion of the course students may be required to submit a criminal background check, drug test, and physical examination along with immunization records.
