Brevard Community College Paramedic Training Program

Brevard Community College is located at 1519 Clearlake Road in Cocoa, Florida. Clearlake road is also highway 501. The University of Central Florida is located a few blocks away from the campus. Clearlake Middle School is located across the street from the campus.

Program Schedule

The paramedic program offered through Brevard Community College is a certificate program. The course consists of 42 credit hours that must be completed in order. The first three classes consist of classroom lectures. This is followed with clinical and lab portions of the course. The final portion of the course consists of a field internship. The paramedic course can typically be completed in less than two years. Upon completion of the course students will be eligible to sit for the national and state examinations.

Program Prerequisites

Admission into the paramedic program is limited. Students must meet all of the prerequisites before applying for the program. Students must be certified as EMTs in the state of Florida and have a current CPR card. Students will be required to discuss the program with a counselor in order to proceed into the program.

Before students begin the clinical portion and the field internship of the program they may be required to submit a drug screening and criminal background check. This will be paid for at their own expense.
