Tallahassee Community College is located in Tallahassee, Florida at 444 Appleyard Drive. The college sits just off State Highway 366. the Lively Technical Center is on the edge of the campus. San Luis Mission Park is not far from the campus.
Program Schedule
The paramedic certificate program offered through Tallahassee Community College is a limited access program that consists of 42 credit hours, taken over the course of four semesters. The program offers classroom work, laboratory practice, clinical instruction and practice and on the job performance in an ambulance.
Program Prerequisites
Students must meet all of the admission requirements of the college, be a certified EMT in the state of Florida, be currently certified in CPR, and complete the following classes, Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology and EMS Pharmacology.
Students will need to submit a criminal background check before entering any of the EMS programs. This includes fingerprints. Applicants are responsible for paying for the background check. A drug screen will also need to be completed prior to acceptance into the program.
Students that are accepted into the program will need to have a complete physical examination on file with the college. Proof of current immunizations must be on record as well. Students must also have a current TB screening on file.
