South Plains College EMT Paramedic Program

South Plains College has an EMT paramedic training program that offers EMT training students the necessary courses for certification at the EMT-Basic level on through to EMT paramedic.South Plains College is located at 819 Gilbert Drive, in Lubbock Texas. Courses for the EMS programs take place in a variety of locations. However, in order to apply to any of the EMT training programs offered through the school, applications must be submitted at the main office on the Reese Campus.

EMT and Paramedic Program Information

The EMT Paramedic program offered through South Plains College consists of EMT-B training courses and EMT paramedic training on through to Advanced EMT levels resulting in a paramedic certification. The courses count towards 21 college credit hours for those wishing to pursue an associate’s degree. Both night and day courses are available to accommodate different student’s needs. It is recommended to apply to the program at least three months in advance of the semester in which you wish to start. You can complete registration online for faster admission.

Program Prerequisites

In order to enroll in the EMT paramedic program, students must first go through an enrollement process to be accepted into the college. Additional requirements for the program include Certification as an EMT Basic through the state of Texas, must be TSI complete in reading examinations, and have a completed student file on record, which includes the information sheet, copy of CPR card, and immunization records.

If accepted into the EMT paramedic program, students will be subject to a criminal background check prior to their clinical rotations.
