Palm Beach Community College EMT Education Program

Palm Beach Community College is located in Lake Worth, Florida at 4200 Congress Avenue. The campus can be reached from 6th Avenue and Lake Worth Road as well.  Lake Osbourne sits directly behind the campus. John Prince Park and the JFK Medical Center are just a few blocks away from the college campus.

Program Schedule

Palm Beach Community College offers a paramedic certificate program for students that wish to complete the core curriculum in order to sit for the NREMT examination. The course takes place over three semesters and day shift classes begin in the fall. The content of the course includes skills labs and classroom instruction and rotations in the hospital and at a fire station. Students will be able to use their core curriculum credits earned towards their associate’s degree in Emergency Medical Services if they wish to complete their degree.

Program Prerequisites

Students that wish to enter the paramedic program must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Students must submit an application to the college and be accepted. The paramedic program is limited access and students must be a certified EMT in the state of Florida to be considered for a position in the course. A score of at least 70 on the NFSI is required.
