Medix School - Georgia EMT Paramedic Education

Medix School has an EMT paramedic training program that provides students with the necessary courses for certification at the EMT-Basic level on through to paramedic.

Medix School is located in Smyrna, Georgia at 2108 Cobb Parkway. The school is located across the street from the Dickson Shopping Center and the Crossings Shopping Center is just down the road on Highway 280. The location of the campus can be reached easily by taking Concord Road SE.

Program Information

Medix School offers an EMT certificate and an associate degree in paramedicine qualifying students to works as an EMT Basic or paramedic. The EMT training classes for paramedic take less than two years to complete and the associate degree takes just over two years to complete. Most of the students attending Medix receive some type of financial aid or scholarship to help with the cost.

Program Prerequisites

Before starting the EMT courses an applicant must participate in a personal interview at the school. This interview is to assess the applicant’s career goals, work experience, academic experience, and personal characteristics.

Potential candidates will need to be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. In order to be eligible for the paramedic classes students must have a valid EMT basic license from the state and have CPR certification at the health care provider level. When entering the EMT training program students may be required to submit to a criminal background check and a drug screening prior to the clinical portion of their education.
