Gwinnett Technical College EMT Paramedic Program

The Gwinnett Technical College EMT paramedic training program offers EMT training students the necessary courses for certification at the highest level of EMT paramedic.

Gwinnett Technical College is located at 5150 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The campus of the college is located just off University Parkway, which is also highway 316. Hughes Lake is located just a few miles away from the campus. You can reach the campus by taking Interstate 85.

EMT and Paramedic Program Information

Gwinnett Technical College offers the only nationally accredited EMT paramedic program available in the state of Georgia. The paramedic program is an associate degree program that consists of 70 credit hours. To enroll in the spring semester students must submit their applications for the program by February 1st. The deadline for fall semester applications is June 1st. In order to qualify for financial aid students must submit their application for by May 2nd.

Program Prerequisites

Students that wish to participate in the EMT paramedic program offered by Gwinnett Technical College must first meet all of the standard admission requirements of the college. In addition, paramedic students must be currently certified as an EMT, having successfully passed EMT training, and must have successfully completed the Georgia State of EMS and Trauma update to AEMT course. In order to participate in clinical experiences throughout the EMT paramedic program students are required to submit a criminal background check and a drug screening.
