Hillsborough Community College Paramedic Training Program

Hillsborough Community College has several campuses throughout the state of Florida. The Dale Mabry and South Shore campus offer a paramedic program. The Dale Mabry campus is located at 10414 East Columbus Drive in Tampa, Florida. It can easily be reached just off Interstate 75. The South Shore campus is located in Ruskin, Florida at 551 24th Street NE.

Program Schedule

Hillsborough Community College offers a paramedic certificate program that consists of 42 credit hours. The classes included in the program meet all of the requirements as set by the United States Department of Transportation. This includes courses in anatomy and physiology, as well as advanced cardiac life support. The course consists of labs, lectures, and clinicals. The course offers three different start dates throughout the year.

Program Prerequisites

In order to enter the paramedic program offered through the college students must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Prospective students must currently be certified as an EMT basic in the state of Florida.

Students will need to submit a physical examination and a copy of their current immunization records upon admittance into the program. Students will be required to pay for a criminal background check and a drug test before being admitted into the program.
