Fayette Campus of Penn State’s Commonwealth College Paramedic School

The Fayette Campus of Penn State’s Commonwealth College is located at Rt. 119 North, One University Drive
Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The college sits in a suburban area of a large town. The campus is considered a commuter campus, with individuals arriving for classes from around the area. The EMS programs take place off campus at local facilities such as the Marclay Community Ambulance center.

Program Schedule

The Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic course offered by the Fayette Campus of Penn State’s Commonwealth College meets all of the training requirements as outlined by the US Department of Transportation. The course takes place at the Marclay Community Ambulance and classes are set to take place on Sunday and Tuesday nights from 6 to 10 pm.

Program Prerequisites

In order to qualify for the paramedic program offered by the college the following prerequisites must be met:

  • 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid EMT basic certification in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Basic life support certification for health care providers.

In addition, students that are accepted into the program must complete and provide verification of:

  • Registration form
  • Payment
  • Malpractice liability insurance
  • ALS service internship
  • Physical examination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or waiver
  • TB test
  • DOH Criminal History Form (PA)
