Capital Community College
Capital Community College (CCC) is a community college found in Hartford, Connecticut, in the U.S. This school is the only public undergraduate institution in the City of Hartford. Capital Community College was established in 1967 as Greater Hartford Community College. In 1992, it joined with Hartford State Technical College and was named Capital Community-Technical College, and later, in 2000, Capital Community College. The college offers a wide selection of degrees and programs in diversified areas of study. Several continuing education programs are available.
CCC offers training courses for EMT and EMT Paramedic certifications.
Emergency Medical Technician/Emergency Management Responder certification has a total of nine credits; 3 each for the following courses.
EMR 101 - Principle/Process of Emergency Management
EMR 102 - Specific Events and Contingency Planning
EMR 103 - Living in a Hazardous Environment
EMT – Paramedic Certification requires the following courses, labs, and credits.
Fall Semester
EMT 116 - Anatomy & Physiology for Emergency / 2 lectures = 2 credits
EMT 111 - EMT Paramedic 1 / 7 lectures + 2 labs = 9 credits
Spring Semester
EMT 112 – EMT Paramedic ll / 7 lectures + 2 labs = 9 credits
EMT 117 - Anatomy & Physiology for Emergency Care II / 2 lectures = 2 credits
Summer Semester
EMT 115 – Paramedic Internship / 5 lectures = 40 labs = 8 credits

Norwalk Community College
Norwalk Community College is a public community college found in Norwalk, Connecticut. The second largest of twelve Connecticut Community Colleges, NCC has more than 35 associates’ degree programs and over 25 certificate programs.
Spread across 30 acres, the NCC campus is home to the Everett I.L. Baker Library, the 298-seat PepsiCo Theater, a broadcast television studio, the Child Development Laboratory School, and an art gallery.
NCC has a EMT-Basic certification program. The EMT courses are a 39-session, non-credit program that meets from 6 to 10 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays; and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on select Saturdays.
Offered by the NCC Division of Extended Studies and Workforce Education,
this EMT Basic course teaches techniques in First Aid, patient assessments, extrications, communication, and other emergency responder concepts that are necessary to become an Emergency Medical Technician. It is the pre-cursor course for EMT-paramedic certification.
This course partners with Norwalk Hospital, and it also meets all National Registry and Connecticut EMS certification requirements. Successfully complete, it will allow student to be eligible to take the National Registry exam.
Requirements include a current physical examination, extensive reading, and completion of EMS clinical training at Norwalk Hospital. As of 2014, tuition is listed as $999.

Stamford Emergency Medical Services
Stamford EMS is a non-profit organization providing emergency medical services for the City of Stamford, Connecticut, and contracted paramedic intercept response to Darien Emergency Medical Services, Darien, Connecticut.
They provide a large and diverse} range of services to meet the demands of its community beyond medical transportation. In addition, SEMS leads the area in event planning and standby coverage. The Academy also provides top quality medical education for healthcare professionals and EMS community members.
Stamford EMS provides Emergency Medical Services courses, American Heart Association CPR, AED and first aid courses, National Safety Council Defensive Driving programs, and CEVO Courses.
Courses for Connecticut State Certification Include:
Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), and Emergency Medical Services Instructor (EMS-I).
Other EMS related courses include: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), 12-Lead Interpretation, Pediatric Education for Pre-hospital Providers (PEPP), Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO3), Incident Command Training (ICS), Hazardous Materials Awareness, and Hazardous Materials Operations.
